Naida's brother Haji decides to re-do Naida's ritual and Kaitlyn, Haji, Brett, John, and Naida's boyfriend Scott travel into her mind. Once there Haji discovers that Shyan is one of Kaitlyn's friends. Kaitlyn also begins to fear her friend John for reasons she cannot explain. Diary entry from Carly is inserted into the book about this time that shows that she was also afraid of one of the people around her, a boy named Brett that had a crush on Carly, unaware that the personality he had met was Kaitlyn. Kaitlyn also tries to discover the Shyan's identity via a charm supplied by Haji. She had suspected Brett after reading a diary entry where he tried to force himself on Carly, but when his dead body is found her suspicions turn to John.

After the credits, we’re introduced to John (David White ANGER OF THE DEAD, HAUNTED) and his family. But John has a secret in his basement, one that you can also probably guess. And there’s a short sequence after the credits you might want to stick around for. Testamento (Alex Lucchesi ALIENWEEN, EATERS), Nibbio (Danny Cutler THE ANTWERP DOLLS), and his brother Brett (Alex Southern) are into home invasions. People who don’t work with the dead for a living can’t help feeling uneasy in these spaces. But those feelings of unease in a morgue have less to do with the presence of the dead and more to do with the low temperature and pre-conditioning. Hobbes, never a particularly cheerful guy, strung those adjectives together to describe life during wartime. Little did he know, though, that one day, they’d also serve as a perfectly accurate three-word review for the 21st-century horror film Dead House. Thieves face home invasion, discover basement lab experiments, and must escape before infecting mutated psychopaths with a new virus.
Add “boring” and “pointless” to Hobbes’ words, and you’ve got Dead House pretty much nailed. Dead House is a reality mockumentary about four Zombies trying to live with a human.

Deadhouse Dark avoids those questions, and the technical experimentation of “Dashcam” or the nostalgic feel of “A Tangled Web We Weave” don’t make up for the lack of a greater congruence. There are intermittent terrors here, particularly the grimy exploration of mortality’s limits in “My Empire of Dirt,” but otherwise, Deadhouse Dark fails to hang together. Despite years of war and sectarian conflict since the 2003 US invasion to overthrow Saddam Hussein, Iraq has returned to a semblance of normality. But civil liberties – for women, sexual minorities and other groups – remain constrained in the conservative society.
